Counseling Background

I use an integrated approach that is grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed theories. I also have training and experience working with multicultural frameworks, cognitive behavioral therapy, hip-hop therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques.

Supervision Background

I obtained a Bachelor of Social Work Degree at Texas Christian University in 2018. I transitioned to Tarleton State University and earned a master's in social work and a master's in criminal justice. I am a licensed clinical social worker supervisor, chemical dependency counselor, and community health worker. I am a SUD clinician at John Peter Smith and serve as a Crew Ambassador for JPS, a level 1 trauma center. Additionally, I have a historically underutilized small business that focuses on implementing a non-profit sector emphasizing adult literacy. I have received additional training and certifications at the Beck Institute and formal academic training in clinical supervision. I have supervised master-level social workers during field placements. As a SUD Clinician, I have received training and practice in substance abuse counseling, utilizing primarily a cognitive behavioral therapeutic approach and a motivational interviewing style. I am participating in a Clinical Fellowship Course with Baylor University while pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work Advanced Clinical Supervision. I am an active National Association of Social Workers, Texas Chapter member.

Supervision Approach

Developmental models influence my approach to supervision. Supervision will be tailored to meet the supervisee's developmental and conceptual levels while ultimately being motivated by the client's well-being.
